2018 Earnings Summary

Y’all, 2018 was a really, really rough year for my little family and as a result, I did not maintain the blog or keep up with many of the apps/sites/etc. for extra earnings. I did pick back up a few things at the tail end of the year and am trying to be more disciplined about it, so I wanted to post an update for how last year ended. (You can find more info some of these programs and more by checking out this post.)

First up: Ibotta! Still one of my favorites to use, and if you sign up with my referral code “eadr6g” you’ll get $10 to start with plus give me a $5 bonus, too. I hadn’t used this most of the entire year until November. Through my grocery shopping, eBay, Amazon, and Etsy purchases I still cashed out $97.35! The above amount shown is just since the start of 2019, and I’m planning to let that just accumulate through the year.

Next is ReceiptHog, which still does not need a referral code. I basically hit $25 in my minimal usage last year and could cash out, but I decided to wait until I got enough coins for the $40. You can scan receipts from pretty much anywhere, and some entries get you spins for their Hog Slots which could earn you additional coins or money.

With Fetch, you can download here and get 2,000 points ($2) to start with by using my code “VW6CY.” You earn points with every grocery receipt scanned, and they have a long list of bonuses for particular products and brands. You can also receive points for e-receipts from Walmart , Target and Amazon. I just realized that they now offer SingleCare prescription discount, which will earn you 5,000 points for your first use and 1,000 each time after. I ended 2018 at 8,307 points, so I will continue to let this one build up.

I have only used TopCashBack once so far, after my mother sent me a coupon deal for a pack of diapers at Walmart. Basically my $8.97 purchase earned me a $21.40 VISA gift card 😁 The site offers varying amounts of cash back through Over 4,400 online retailers, is free to join, has no minimum cash out amount AND lets you stack cash back savings with coupons. If you sign up with my referral link and earn $10, I get a bonus, too. I’ll definitely be using this one a bit more in the new year.

ReceiptPal ended 2018 with enough points to get a $50 Restaurant.com gift card, but I’m waiting a tad longer to get the next option which includes a movie so I can have a mommy-daughter date with my oldest child. This app lets you scan receipts from any retailer, and also takes e-receipts. It adds up quickly, considering the little time involved and that I’m already doing the same thing with other apps! No referral is needed, just visit here to sign up.

With YouGov I had 16,650 points. The lowest prize you can redeem is a $15 Amazon gift card for 25,000 points. Had I actually participated in their surveys and such regularly, it would not have taken much time to achieve that, I believe. They offer many other prizes and their surveys are usually much more interesting than other sites I’ve signed up for in the past. If you sign up with my link we’ll both get 2,000 points after you complete 4 surveys.

There’s a few oldies I’ll be revisiting this year (and some knew ones I just began with this year) in effort to add more to my savings efforts and paying down debts in 2019. Keep an eye out for more information and progress updates! How did you earn and save in 2018? What are your goals going forward in the new year?
